Hello!
I'm Malchior!

I've been almost exclusively active on Tumblr and on the Werelist, but I figured I ought to extend my reach deeper into the nonhuman/otherkin community since I plan to stick around, learn, grow, and hopefully help others do the same.

I am a reaper, as well as a lionlike dragon - I experience both of these at the same time. I suppose I might qualify as a 'celestial' due to being reaperkin, but I don't necessarily care what classifications people put on me - simply that I am what I am. I experience mental and phantom shifts incredibly frequently, and I have phantom wings that are present 99% of the time.

To quote my introduction from Werelist:

One of my strongest "reasons" for knowing I am otherkin aside from having always felt like I wasn't human my whole life is that I very commonly experience phantom shifts, and I did when I was younger as well.

Being otherkin aside, I am also FtM transgender, something I came to terms with a few months after realizing I was otherkin. At first I identified as neutral gendered/agender, partially out of fear of being FtM, but I eventually couldn't disregard who I was and accepted that what I was experiencing was heavy gender dysphoria.

Back to being otherkin - is it all in my head? Yes, possibly. I'm not an incredibly spiritual person, though I believe in some form of afterlife, though that belief is less spiritual and more of believing that the psyche can survive past a physical body. I would love to see science to explain it, if it exists. Anyways, yes. Being otherkin may be in my head. I have limited knowledge of psychology, having taken only a few classes, but if what I learned is correct, most people's identities are formed around the age of three - and I have considered myself to be nonhuman since around this age. Both the feeling of being nonhuman and the sensation of phantom and mental shifts may be due to influences of lions and dragons and monsters on my personality as a toddler, may be a facet of my personality or my psyche expressing itself in an unusual way, may be an extreme manifestation of my self-identity.

And hey, it may just very well be my soul - I like to think of things from a psychological point of view, but I am down with the belief that there is such a thing as the soul. And, if there is, I am down with the belief that mine may not be human-shaped. Whatever the reason that I am what I am and that I experience what I experience, so be it - these experiences are all I have ever known and while I may not understand their origins, I am not upset that they are there.

One of the things I have set out to do since I began lurking around the edges of the otherkin and therian communities is to celebrate and cherish my identity and to celebrate and cherish the identities of others, should they wish to do the same. As a designer and an artist, I lust for self-expression, and I want to live a life that is enriched by the fact that I identify as something that is not human, as opposed to hindered by it, as many people I talk to seem to assume.

So basically: Hello! I'm new to Otherkin Phenomena, and I'm looking forward to talking with all of you and learning from everyone. <!-- sBig Grin --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- sBig Grin -->

Elinox - A little bit hard to explain, but basically I identify with the concept and mythos of entities similar to the "Grim Reaper," though on a lesser scale - closest I can think of is the concept of Shinigami though in a more modern sense of being Grim Reaper-like rather than the older, demon-like entities which attempt to cause death. A better term might be a soul-shepherd or soul-guardian, I have always felt very attuned with the idea of souls - even if only in a symbolic sense referring to someone's innermost sense of self - and protecting, guiding, and nurturing them. I know there are angels that fit this description, but I know I am not one - at least, I don't think of myself as one. It's a little hard to really describe without feeling it, I'm sure you know how that goes - but I've come to an understanding that this is what I am.

Arethinn - Yes! That's my otherkin-focused Tumblr, though it's mostly images at this point, haha.

Re: Hello!
@ Malchior:

Have you ever thought of the term psychopomp? A psychopomp covers a whole list of entities such as various gods, angels, even the Grim Reaper would be considered one.
