No plans, no trick or treating. I'm always a little baffled when people go all "Ooooh, Hallowe'en!" but if it floats your socks or rocks your boat, on you go!

I plan to go wandering around in black clothing with my best friend. It's an excuse to be out after dark, and I'll happily take it.

Re: Halloween/Samhain Discussion Topic
Going to a party tonight at a church.

I know...but they have games and stuff and my daughter's friend will be there. They're calling it a Harvest Festival instead of a Halloween party, probably to get away from the pagan influences, but what can be more pagan than celebrating a harvest?

Anyway, I spent most of the day ysterday getting her skunk costume together. Don't ask me why she wanted to be a skunk, I have no idea. But it's very cute! And while we were at the donation store I found some nice Chinese themed jackets, one with the long skirtlike tails! I was just saying I needed to improve my Tai Chi wardrobe.

Re: Halloween/Samhain Discussion Topic
Tonight I have a date with my duvet and Most Haunted Live (it might be a bit dramatic, but good entertainment).

My parents don't celebrate Halloween (or answer the door to trick-or-treaters) but I went to a Halloweeny party two years ago, went to a Halloweeny sleepover even more years ago, and have trick-or-treated twice. My mother didn't mind me going to parties, but didn't approve of my trick-or-treating at all.

I'm going to consume some alcohol and hang out with Selcar.

There was no "halloween" in the norse/teutonic tradition.

Re: Halloween/Samhain Discussion Topic
I'm sadly too old for trick or treating so I'll be dressing up and answering the door for the trick or treaters.

If we remember, we'll give our cats gooshyfudz because it's black cat day. (One is only about half black, but how can we say now when her bratty sister gets the good stuff?)

Re: Halloween/Samhain Discussion Topic
we don't celebrate halloween much over here, but i always keep some treats just in case... earlier tonight, two girls knocked at my door. one was wearing a mask, one was dressed normally, and they said "trick or treat" veeery quietly and shyly, so i responded: "am i supposed to be scared of that? try again... louder." they tried again, and got some candy bars.

no black cats here, but i'll give them treats anyway.
