Funny Moments in Otherkinity
Got to make this quick because I'm in a pinch.

Yesterday night, I was just sitting there and minding my own business, when suddenly my phantom wings began to itch like crazy. I ended up jumping around the room, trying to scratch them, scratching all over my back in an attempt to get rid of the itch, but it was to no avail.

Looking back upon it now, it was rather amusing.

So, has anyone else have funny otherkin stories such as this? (I bet yours are much more interesting...)

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
hmmm, i remember a very new-age-y woman calling me an "entity of light". i didn't know about otherkin back then but already identified as a demon, so it was rather funny, but i didn't want to disappoint her, so i just smiled. makes me grin whenever i think back.

also, there is that woman i know who is also an incarnated demon with phantom wings. we just cannot sit next to each other, our phantom wings will start colliding and it's very uncomfortable.

and then there was that person who said he hated humans. i asked if he hated me, he replied that i wasn't human. he couldn't know that! so i asked "then what am i?" he replied "i don't know yet."

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
It is some years ago from now.

I was visiting a friend and with him together we went to hospital, looking after his dying mother that was there at this time.

We went to the elevator and entered it. In it was a nurse with an old man, sitting in his wheel-chair. Then we waited for the door shutting. Nothing happened ... still nothing happened ... thirty seconds later my friend asked me, with a total normal voice: "Ey, did you forget your tail? The door is stilll open!" - I myself, absentminded: "Oh yes! Sorry!" and put my tail back in the little elevator and the door immediately shutting. The nurse was - a little - irritated about that and stared at us disturbed.

Later on, when we re-entered this elevator again to leave the hospital, the very same nurse was again in it. She had a big volume in her hands, something about "inexplainable wonders" or so and she still was staring at us, having this look that people have when they encounter something really weird.

Yours,

Valamezar

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
My boyfriend had the chance to introduce me to some friends of his at a club. So he wanted to be a smartass about it.

Bf: This is Nie, and she's chaos incarnate.
His friend: Oh, I knew that. *gestures to group* We all did.
Bf: W...wh...what??
Friend: Dude, the way she was knocking back those drinks and hitting the dance floor? Yea, if she isn't chaos I dunno what is.

And I just fell back laughing my ass off.

Simim: Rainbow poop at your disservice.

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
Hmmm... I went to a psychic on a whim, figuring she'd be a fake. But when I went in, the first thing she says is "nice wings." (:

Then there's the quite funny time when my friend was trying to get her wings to turn black. She couldn't get them past dark grey, no matter how hard she tried. Then... she sneezed. And they went black.

Some folks at my school were talking about this one girl who's... promiscuous. One guy said "she'd have sex with a human, an animal, an angel..." No one could figure out why I started giggling and blushing.

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
The old woman who walked up to me in a bookstore and started exclaiming about how bright my aura was, how soft my hair was- while she's got her hands tangled up in my hair- and how you just didn't see angels anymore. She asked for a hug. A funny lesson: it is impossible to not give an old woman clutching a gardening book and cooing over your aura a hug when she asks for it.

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
I give piano performances over the summer, when I'm recovering from the last semester of university. Awhile back, my high school driver education teacher asked me if I'd come to her Methodist church the next Sunday and play something; they needed a musical feature, and the singer they'd requested for that week had fallen ill (sinuses, nasty stuff).
I was all for any opportunity to make pretty noise for a nave full of people, so I assembled some jazz arrangements of popular Christian hymns.
Come Sunday, it all goes off without a hitch; I'm basically the opening act. Once I finish playing and the small ovation ends, the teacher calls me over to find a seat in the pews for the rest of the service.

Then things got wacky. This little old lady sitting behind me makes a gasping-awe sound like "ohhhh!", and I feel tickling in the wings. I turn my head enough to get a glance behind me, and sure enough, there's a blind woman (i.e. carrying a white cane and wearing blackglasses), maybe 80 years old, running her hands over my mid-left wing like it's as tangible as the staircase banisters or the back of the pew. The woman next to her is staring at the little old lady like she's possessed or something, because she's waving her hands around in the air.
I try not to laugh, and finally it's time to go forward for voluntary communion. As I walk toward the altar, the little lady leaves her cane in the pew, and she somehow manages to avoid running into anybody, and before I know it, she's riiiight behind me in the very long line to reach the altar.
At this point I'm half weirded-out.
She puts her hands on my shoulders from behind and leans over my left ear, and she whispers kinda' loudly, "Sometimes unknowing we walk in the presence of angels. It's been years since I could remember what fire looked like. Thank you for joining us today, Messenger."
Then she steps around me, unerringly grabs my hand, and kisses the back of it... and proceeds to cut ahead of me in the line for communion.

Powerful stuff. Sounds like a very surreal experience!

Re: Funny Moments in Otherkinity
*Sigh* That's a very touching story Estelore. If that happened to me I would feel very...honored is the word, I think.

But no...I'd like to think that something of this nature has happened to me before, but I can't think of anything specific. There were little things, maybe, but they could also be due to something else.

What a great experience.
