Fear Eaters?
I suspect I may have fear eaters in my house. They are like darker ghosts, a light grey to dark grey occasionally almost black in color. They hide out in rooms where I let off energy, and they generally enjoy following me around for some reason. But many of them can't leave a particular spot and go too far. They can move about a few feet from where they are, then that float back, and float forward. They generally are VERY interested in me. They come toward me wherever I am, and I do get a bit frightened, but I'm not sure that I am just frightened because I have had some bad experiences with spirits.

Whenever I go to a friend's house, at first I am free from spirits. Then within a few days, they will start appearing, where normally, without me, they wouldn't be there.

As for the "physical" description of these spirits, they are generally fairly tall (7-8 ft), although they can sometimes be short too, humanoid or animalistic, and have creepy eyes that I can sort of see if I focus. They also can occasionally appear as a floating cloud, but very rarely. They hide out in the same places, dark or light, it doesn't seem to matter, and many of them are there. The energy inside them seems to move around almost "frantically", swirling so on. But not always in a pattern, like a swirl. They are easier to see when it's dark, but are still there in the light.

What are these? Are they fear eaters? Ghosts? Shadows? Or demons?

Re: Fear Eaters?
as i said elsewhere, i don't believe those are fear eaters. you would be much more frightened, and they wouldn't share their prey. i believe they are just curious because you can sense them.

Re: Fear Eaters?
It does make sense that entities would be drawn to areas where energy is present (either residue from dispersal, shielding or whatnot).

Personally, I would take precautions. While precautions may be sufficient, I personally would be curious why they were there. Are they just local beings who wandered in off the street after they found energy? Why are they there? Are they actually there for you in particular?

I understand first hand that past experiences can leave a traumatic imprint upon one's confidence. Sooner or later you just need to just put yourself back together and move forward and try something again while keeping in mind what you learned from the unpleasant experience. You can either confront your fears or cower away from them (or let someone else you know deal with this situation).

Sounds like you encountered some Wraiths. From memory they love to feed on fear and other emotions of similar natures.

Re: Fear Eaters?
I've had a strange encounter with them before, or at least I think it was one of them. I was walking home from school, the wind was blowing, gently caressing (air has always been my element). But there was a strange presence around, I could feel and sense it. I could sense its steps, it omnipresent presence. When I got to a corner, I suddenly felt the energy go right past me - maybe even through me. After that, I felt a little scared, a little confused with it. I haven't found an answer yet. But perhaps they were Fear Eaters or Wraiths even.

I agree. I had thought about this post when I saw it on another board, just could not come up with that term for some reason.

Re: Fear Eaters?
Wraiths are generally protectors of the dead and rarely manifest a.) inside b.) without provocation. Generally I mean, I wouldn't count anything out, ya know?

Fear eaters usually produce instant and uncontrolable fear, sometimes panic or the wonder if you're asleep. They are opportune, and forceful. Again, generally; I've never actually sat down with a fear eater and asked it its mission statement. But I've known a handful of people, including my husband, who feel like they have encountered a fear eater before. But what you describe has so much....personality, a curiousity and a sentience. Have you ever tried talking to them?

School, sadly. But I hope to create games someday, specializing in character creation. It beats giving birth XD Currently I'm studying to be a IT-specialist, focusing mostly on programming. Even though I suck at it XDD

Re: Fear Eaters?
I'm not sure about this, but I think most spirits that you call fear-eaters would move things around or create sounds - anything out of the ordinary, because mostly humans are xenophobic. Also, I have one in or around my room, which is the attic. I used to be afraid to come up here when I was little, even if I wasn't alone. Now I still don't necessarily like being here alone, especially when the daylight is gone. I don't like daylight per se, but it does feel safer than lamp light. Thankfully, it doesn't always show itself, probably because I told it could feed off me whenever if it left my sister and mother alone.

Often enough, there's a cold draft in this room which actually seems to 'move' seperately from the blowing of the wind. And of course, there's that time I saw a shadow man. My initial reaction was fear, so I'd turned away, and when I turned back he was fading away (He'd been a very dark, nearly black gray before). I told it to stay and show itself, which it did of course. So take my advice, don't ask them to show themselves. This one seemed amused and it started to turn around, which is very weird to see. Like there are various light sources all giving a shadow to the same object, yet still a sense of motion exists in that shadow. I didn't see a face, or eyes, just a shape, yet it was easy to say when he was facing me.

In short, I don't think it was fear eater that seemed so interested in you Faite (Pleased to meet you, and the rest of you here). I think it would've been more interactive than just curiously moving about.
