Fae and song
I've heard of the angelic communicating through some sort of emotional song before using spoken words (I'm not too sure on that), but what known fae communicated through song? Are there any tales of faeries who used song and music primarily?

Re: Fae and song
I have heard of Faerie dance though in some faerie tales. Though I'm foggy on specifics at the moment.

Re: Fae and song
Fae normally snare through music and dance but some sea nymphs (getting into sirens a bit) do snare through song. But many of these purposes are used for evil means and not happy ones. Usually through trickery, deception, or leaving someone in a worse state than when found.

For the past week I've been having dreams where I'm my faerie-self and I'm communicating through song. It's not usually with sounds that someone in a human-body can easily copy, but it's a melody nonetheless; apologies, but I don't know what to compare the sound to at the moment... So I'm searching for tales in which faeries use song. Ack, I know, it's a dream, and it could just be my imagination, but a little research never hurt anyone.

Ignore Xanthus. His inner geek is getting the best of him. Tongue

does any one respond to your songs in your dreams?

Re: Fae and song
Eh, it is modern fiction, not an old folktale, but it still involves Fae that use song.

Ps: and it's a pretty good book, anyhow.

Perhaps pay attention for that next time. (winks)

But... the SHINIES!

And should it be that we shall never meet again,
Know that I will always keep you in my heart,
And I will search for you in that time beyond time
Until we do meet again, and you will know
That love and family are the miracles of the world.
