Energy signatures
Do you find yourself able to pick up on energy signatures, auras, etc, more easily than others?
Do you think you pay more attention to energy compared to other 'kin who are not energy beings?
How do you perceive it?

I mean, for me, everything's got a buzz of some sort without me even trying. When I focus on it, I can pick up more. I can see it in color, but normally I don't need to. It's just this... vibe. I don't pay attention to color or visual parts of energy so much as the way it feels and the texture of it.

Re: Energy signatures
I pick up on them. I'm not sure that I can say I do so better than other kintypes, but I definitely have a knack for them. I pay a good amount of attention to it. For me, it's a basic form of communication. It lets me know what's good to approach and what I should be careful of. It's like a second form of eyesight, not 100% trustworthy but gives me the best idea of what I'm heading into.

I perceive energy signatures as several 'attributes' that play on my other senses. There's color, sound, and vibration/hum for each person, sometimes several of a type. I'm starting to get a "texture" when I'm in close proximity of someone too. Put all the attributes together and they make a kind of 'noise' that tells me about the person. It's all mental perception, I don't physically see/hear/etc anything.

There's the "sixth sense" attribute to it too- the part that tells what's dangerous, what's not, etc. Of course I can't even begin to explain that, as I don't fully understand it myself.

Re: Energy signatures
When it comes to remembering a meeting with a person I usually remember the aura signature and not the name not the appearance. Usually, during meeting first time a person I am collecting those datas without consciously knowing this. I do this since I began to shamanize, back in 91. Appearande or names are merely some more details, but by far not the most important ones for me. Interesting side note: I do this only in real-life situations. People whom I meet only Online I do not scan this way.

I cannot describe how this signature "looks like" or "feels like" - because there are many different levels or layers of information I usually sum up in the term "auric imprint" or "auric signature".

Re: Energy signatures
I'm not sure if I pick up energy signatures better than other kin or not. How could I tell? But yes, I generally do pick them up from people I meet. I'm not sure how to describe what they are though. I'm tempted to compare them to a unique scent that everyone has, but it's not really something I smell. Seems to be a mix of temperature, texture, color, and it really isn't any of these things either. Though these are the labels I might use for reference. I do sometimes pick them up from people online, but I generally have to make an effort to do so. It's not automatic like it is when I meet someone in person.

If I want to do energy work at a distance, or work with a specific spirit, I remember what the signature felt like and bring it into my awareness, and then I'm 'there' at an empathic subconscious level.

Re: Energy signatures
I've had a knack for sensing energy signatures for awhile. For me, they appear to be an orb of swirling colors in the middle of a void. Interpreting them is a different matter, except in those cases where I perceive a 'light' or a kind of toxic cloud in their energy. I have taken that to mean that I'll enjoy someone's company more if the light is brighter and that I'll dislike people with the cloud. I can/could- I haven't tried it recently, so I don't know if it's faded from disuse- also use a person's unique signature to find them, to a certain point. Of course, that's only when I'm concentrating. When not concentrating, it degenerates to the equivalent of empathy.

Re: Energy signatures
I like to think I'm a pretty good judge of character...as in the moment I meet someone I get a "vibe" from them and proceed to pass judgement. I take that as me "reading" their energy for a little glimpse into their being. I don't think I'm any better at it than anyone else, I just don't have to work to be able to "sense" it and am aware that that's what I'm sensing.

Re: Energy signatures
Obviously, I'm no expert, but I seriously doubt that judgment of character and energy signatures have much to do with one another. Personality and character are, in my experience, completely separate from energy.

Due to my vampiric qualities, more than being an energy being (though that does effect my ability as well), I am becoming increasingly aware of energy. I sense energy by sound, as well as physical/phantom sensation and every being resonates a little differently.

I also happen to be an excellent (thus far XD) judge of character but that's because people send physical cues unconsciously and I'm good at reading and interpreting them.

Re: Energy signatures
i've always had a knack for picking up energy signatures, it's how i do energy work if it involves others. i can also do it with online friends if i've known them for a while. which led to a rather tragic experience, but also very nice and interesting ones. i would never ever recommend messing with terro's guardians though. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

i like to refer to it as someone's signature or flavor. that's because i do enjoy interchanging energy with some people more than others. sometimes it's like feasting on someone, only that i give as much as i take, so it's not vampirism. being able to access my donor remotely also has its advantages. <!-- sWink --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- sWink -->

uhm, i guess this was a pretty chaotic post, but i'm sure you know what i mean. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

I'd agree with you if I couldn't come up with a judgement before even speaking to the person. However, just walking by someone it hits me before I even have a conversation with the person. Hence my equating the two.

Re: Energy signatures
Mmm.. not too sure how other kin are like, but for me, it's natural. I simply know it -- I don't get the information through the five senses, nor do I actually experience it. If I really have to liken it to something, I would say it is simply how my energy reacts to them and I recognize this by the effects it has on my body -- tingling, nausea, headaches, etc.
