Re: Do You Have Dysphoria?
I do experience species dysphoria, but I wouldn't say it's strong. It's primarily a feeling of my body being wrong and inadequate.

Re: Do You Have Dysphoria?
I have both gender and species dysphoria, both are pretty bad, though I think gender is probably worse, if only by a little bit, since it's the most noticeable.

Re: Do You Have Dysphoria?
Many of us in the system have species dysphoria and about half have gender dysphoria. All around, the experience is rather mild usually. We can accept and generally tolerate that our body is human and female fairly well. We're not overly comfortable with out body as it is but we can at least live with it, which is why we consider our case generally mild for the most part.

My experience with species dysphoria is largely the same: it's there, but not normally strong or bothersome. I didn't vote because there wasn't an option for 'sometimes' or 'other'. <!-- sWink --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- sWink -->

Re: Do You Have Dysphoria?
Species and gender. I hadn't really thought much about it, but at the point of wishing I could escape being bound to a human form, yes, it's there. It would be nice to actually be able to shapeshift into the beings I become, yes? But in this form I can affect physical reality, so obviously there's a tradeoff.

In addition, my gender identity doesn't stay stable, though I have had experiences in dreams and subsequently outside of them in which I'm fully equipped with a male form. Dealing with that once it's brought up isn't easy; usually we have the presence of mind to know that it's temporary and that the alternative (physical transition to male) is permanent.

Third thing: Being physically female, mentally male, with the body seeming to transition on its own in the male direction. I am also experiencing this, due to naturally high testosterone levels...not sure what I can do about it other than go on (more) female hormones. Because of this, though; there's been concern over what to do if it continues to progress...

I voted Yes, but it's a qualified yes; my experience sounds similar to what Seraphyna said.

Re: Do You Have Dysphoria?
Yes. I often feel like my physical form is inelegant at best and cumbersome and annoying at worst. Trading it out for something else isn't really an option, though, so I just ignore the feeling.

RE: Do You Have Dysphoria?
Ye, mildly. I used to have it quite bad as a kid and teen tho, I used to will myself to turn into a mermaid all the time. To no avail of course.
I was pretty angry about it tbh.
One time when I was 5 or 6 I went swimming with my dad and tried to breathe underwater, just in case.
It didn't go well, lots of coughing and spluttering.
It started to subside a bit when I found out about actual swimmable tails and monofins, just knowing there's an option there is nice. I bought one a few years back, It'll never let me breathe underwater but atleast the visuals are there. It'll do ^.^
I still very much long to be in the sea, to always feel water surrounding me. I feel wistful watching sealife documentaries set in tropical waters. I don't know how I have room in my head to be homesick about two very different habitats at the same time, to equal degrees. Because of this I'm very fond of kelp forests, it's a happy medium.
