Commutes are Boring
So, I drive about 1 hour to/from work in the mornings and evenings. I have some people I call and chat with on my cellphone during these times to occupy myself (hands-free headset of course), as it's almost entirely a straight drive across the world's longest bridge. No, that's not hyperbole. My morning/evening commute takes me across the world's longest bridge - The New Orleans Causeway.

So, if anyone has anything interesting they'd care to chat about - drop me a PM or reply here and I'll throw you my cellphone#.

Oh...my commute is about 7-8am CST and 5-6pm CST. (-6 GMT)

Re: Commutes are Boring
I have a 35 to 40 minute commute on workdays, but I drive a stretch of highway nicknamed 'Blood Alley' due to the number of fatal and serious accidents on it, thus I only can allow myself music for company.

Oh jeeze. Driving down that thing is BORING. DX

Just going from Houston to New Orleans, half the trip was on that bridge. And all the radio stations suck. T_T

Feel free to call me on your way back. I'm asleep when you go to work. XD

I'll talk about anything as long as you bring up a subject or something. Warning, though: I can occasionally have a very morbid/horrible sense of humor. And if you ask me about personal experiences, I've done some crazy things. And I'm likely to go from passionate to silly.

But if you're really THAT BORED, at least I'm interesting. ^_^

It's not so much that they ALL suck, it's more that all the ones that come in CLEARLY suck. So you have a choice between static or suck. I think I've listened through my entire MP3 collection a few dozen times since starting this job...man I need more music...

I wish I was asleep when I go to work. (Cell# Sent - PM)

If your sense of humor can beat mine, you win OVER 9000 INTERNETS. I love talking about personal experiences, too. The crazier the better. Some study I read a long time ago stated that over 75% of people have had an unusual, unexplainable or otherwise 'crazy' experience, yet, about the same percentage doesn't believe in such things. That really boggles my mind.

Re: Commutes are Boring
You do know that the only reason you CAN talk to all those folks currently is because they are listed on your phone on our plan. Otherwise you would be out of minutes in a week! Think I am joking? Well our minutes roll over 1/27...he has already burned through 400. Thankfully, 98% of that is on our plan. Otherwise almost half of our minutes for the month would be gone.

Re: Commutes are Boring
I LOVE my commute. 40 minutes each way in rush hour, 20 minutes if not, in which I can just sit on the bus and not have to have any contact with other entities . . . bliss

Like you said, 98% of that is comp'd, so I still have BAZILLIONS of unspent minutes for people to drop me a line with, lol.

We only have 1,000 minutes...well 970 right now. Doesn't take long to talk through. Last month we used all but 300 of 'em just on regular calls.

I can't wait until we move. No more commute for anyone

Well, an hour is 60min, and I doubt I'd be on the phone the FULL hour from start to stop, so say, 50min.

1000min @ 50min a day would still take 20 days to burn through, and at 5-day work-weeks, that's about a month - and that would also be if I never called anyone on my plan again during that time and talked to someone off-plan EVERY day for the WHOLE drive.

I don't think it's a big worry.
