Comic Book Characters Grouped by Religious Affiliation
Ever wonder what your favorite superhero's religion was? Well now you can probably find out!
Especially if you have a lot of free time like the person who made this site did
http://www.adherents.com/lit/comics/comic_collage.html

These are the groups they have represented:
angels | Assemblies of God | Atheist | Australian Aboriginal traditional religion | Aztec | Baha'i | Baptist | Buddhist | Bushido | Catholic | Churches of Christ (Stone-Cambell) | Community Church | Congregationalist / United Church of Christ | Disciples of Christ (Stone-Campbell) | Druid | Druze | Eastern Orthodox | Egyptian classical religion | Episcopalian/Anglican | Evangelical Protestant | Female Supremacists, Radical Feminists, etc. | Fundamentalist Environmentalists and Gaians | Goddess worship | Hindu | Hippie | Incan | Inuit | Jehovah's Witnesses | Jews | Jewish Catholics | Latter-day Saints | Lutheran | Mayan | Methodist | Muslim/Islam | New Age | Norse/Teutonic Paganism | Objectivist | Pentecostal | Polynesian Traditional Religion | Presbyterian | Quaker (Society of Friends) | Roma/Gypsy | Seventh-Day Adventists | Taoist | Santeria | Scientology | Shinto | Sikh | Sumerian / Mesopotamian | Vegan/Animal Rights | Unificationist | Unitarian / Unitarian-Universalist | Vodoun | Wiccan | Yazidi

and this is the main site with more info but less pictures:

I think Wonder Woman is one of the goddess-worshipping ones. A book I had when I was little was about Wonder Woman's origins, and she was created by a Greek Amazon-type society which was blessed by Artemis.

she can be found on the main page in a few spots:
Quote:Other Lists of Religious Superheroes
God Squad

Which major mainstream superheroes are most consistently portrayed as overtly religious? These are characters who go beyond simply exhibiting positive religious values, charity and heroism, but who openly exhibit religiosity tied to an organized religious affiliation, through prayer, verbally sharing their faith, worship service attendance, and other means. This brief list only includes some of the best known devoutly religious comic book characters. Many other characters listed on this page are devout in their religion.

- Nightcrawler
- Wonder Woman
- Firebird
- Moon Knight
- Huntress
- Dust
- Raven
- Doctor Mid-Nite
- Martian Manhunter
- Wolfsbane
- Captain Canuck
- Green Arrow
- Atom Smasher
- Black Lightning

(Note that these characters represent many different religious faiths and denominations, including: Catholic, Greco-Roman classical religion, American Baptist Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Buddhist, Jewish and Islam.)

Quote:The Significant Seven
Out of the hundreds of superhero characters, seven stand out as most historically important:

It's funny how comic book writers, like all other writers, think, "Hmm, I need to give this character depth - let's make him Catholic!"

Nice to see Marvel with a few decent atheist heroes, too!

I can't argue with that, actually. ^_^ My RP characters, heck... I have their perfumes, shoe sizes, preferred colours, hairstyles, religion, childhood pet names... I know everything about them.
