Chordal's Phoenix grounding (?)
simim23 Wrote:I'm not even sure if I'm capable of filtering the energies I feed on out, much like, time and time again, I've found it nigh impossible to ground and center, even when I feel connected to the earth.
The last time I went through a period where I really severely needed to ground -- not counting the earthquake/tsunami thing -- someone over the phone demonstrated with me how to ground psychologically. Basically, the technique is to take notice of what is around you, and describe it to yourself or someone else, taking notice of small details. This basically gets one lost in materiality and takes one's mind off of whatever it's been running on about. The point, with this technique, is just to stop giving one's mind the resources to be anxious or afraid, etc., and focus on the fact that one is safe now -- not being harmed, *now*. Doing anything that requires all of your energy and concentration, will help ground you.

Right now I'm experiencing a component of a possible spiritual grounding technique, though I'm not entirely certain of all its parts. The technique is something I developed a very long time ago. It ties in to a vision of oneself as like a black hole, in the sense of something that takes in material from around oneself, particularly in the sense of bending light. You can't see a black hole itself, but you can see its effects, say, in gravity lensing.

Essentially, if one is feeding off of ambient energy, in a way the visualization is similar -- though maybe the "drop in and never come out again" thing isn't totally accurate. I'm just thinking of something that would bend the space around it in multiple dimensions.

So what I'm thinking of, right now, is similar to the vortex (glowing debris disk) created around a black hole as it's drawing in material. I'm uncertain as to which direction this should be spinning -- for me, clockwise is slow and peaceful (because of encountering resistance, I don't entirely know why); counterclockwise is fast with ripping wind, and draws up my own energy. Both of these are somewhat hard for me to consciously sustain, at the moment. As a note: some people say that counterclockwise "energy vortexes" draw in "negative" or "harmful" energy, while clockwise ones are supposed to be "positive". But consider the source...I'm fairly certain this comes from New Agers, who tend to be fluffy white-light types. Others can probably chime in on this if they've heard it from other sources.

Essentially you'd want to spin the energy around yourself, as though you were the center of a gyroscope. At the center of the vortex, inside yourself, you imagine a light (mine is bright golden yellow); mental effort is going into maintaining the spin and drawing energy to this light (?). When the vortex is fast enough, and the light is full enough, the light shoots down a beam into the earth, twisting and drilling "through" soil and rock (it may help to insert a glowing line segment at the head of the ray so you can see it twisting). The ray is pointing to the center of the Earth, but it's unlikely that it will actually get that far. Just as far down as you can get it should help.

In the past, I've used a sound like a bird's scream when shooting down the light. (It was actually the Phoenix's scream from Final Fantasy VII, as geek as that sounds. ) It's essentially a silent kiai...if you don't know what that is, I'm sure your partner can explain; it's a martial arts term associated with exerting oneself; in my old art, it was something sounded to assist with "extending ki."

I'm not entirely certain if that will help. As a note...when doing this, I'd normally be paying attention to my breath; however, paying attention to that, plus making an energy vortex, plus visualization, isn't the easiest thing to do. Focusing on the breath is basically a core skill; it assists in allowing one to realize when their mind is wandering, especially if the breathing is somehow controlled. Visualization assists with moving energy; for me it's easier to push energy in a circle around myself than it is to make a ray and force it downwards.

Anyway, I thought I'd toss that your way and see if it helps any.

EDIT: And, right -- I don't know how to clear an energy pattern yet, either...

Re: Chordal's Phoenix grounding (?)
I think I'll try this tonight. I'd try it right now, actually, because it looks like it might work, but the last grounding technique I tried out had me suddenly sleepy and led to a 10-hour "nap."
