Can people see "it"?
I was wondering if any of you have had experiences where some people see or seem to notice your otherkinness. I know that several members of the Werelist have had experiences where children will notice them and say something like "look Mommy, a doggie!" or "look Daddy, a kitty!" when the animal person isn't showing any outward signs of their theriotype (wearing t-shirts, jewelry, a tail, etc.) and so I was wondering if Otherkin had similar experiences in being noticed for what they are.

I myself have experienced children taking special interest in me, usually just by watching and staring at me as if I'm different and they like that I stand out. I've noticed that people in public places seem to notice me (and sometimes openly stare) even though I try to be as inconspicuous as possible. I haven't ever had anyone (child or adult) openly call me a "wolfie" or even a "doggie" but I don't normally outwardly project my wolfish nature (or aura/energy/whatever you call it) so I don't know if the two are related or not. Normally, I'm just me: neither entirely wolf nor entirely human but a mixture of both.

And this is not to say that it's just a normal occurance of people noticing and staring at you. Obviously in some cases, it's merely a coincidence or easily explained by normal circumstances (as could very easily be the case with my own experiences). I was just wondering if anyone here had any experiences where people seem to pick up on them being Otherkin.

*nods*, many times, i've had kids call me "Devil", "monster", or had people staring. Especially at night for some unknown reason.

Can you share a few specific examples please?

Re: Can people see "it"?
I once had a kid in a friend's house ask if he could play something for me on the piano. I was taken aback because I don't like kids and this kid in particular doesn't like me either. I was all, "Uuhhh, okay" then the kid goes to the piano, hmms at me for a moment, opens his music book and starts playing . . . Me and My Shadow. I loled.

I've had a few freakish occurances. I still believe there's a handful of people and things around that know what I am better than I do...but they're not talking.

I have noticed children , animals and The "simple" type people. dont mean to not be PC but . They just come and start talking to me just chatting. No one has really spoken anything to me though but I did have one child come up behind me and touch where my wings would be, which totally fliped me out.

As interesting as it would be, and how much I hear about it, I've never had anything of the sort happen to me.

Of course given that otherkin tend to be "unusual" on the one hand, and looking for validation on the other, it's no surprise that many otherkin take regular everyday encounters and think they mean something.

Very true. And, as with everything regarding Otherkin, one should take such experiences witha grain of salt. I was just curious.
