Astral Injury and the Nature of Memory
Good Day, Fellow Forumites

Today I present an issue which while having particular significance to me so to for others in our position.
Imagine for a moment that the "Seventh Chakra" or whichever part of the subtle-body your personal system equates with conscioussness; possesses the ability to store memory as the physical brain does. If the subtle-body can be exposed to trauma and injured then perhaps this could extend to psychological traumas as well; in particular, memory. If this is indeed the case then it might well offer an explanation why we tend to lose access to our memory when we incarnate.

My contacts have transmitted messages to me(in the form of visions, dreamscapes) that imply that my coming to be here is due to an injury.. this was illustrated in a series of combat-premised dreams and culminating in a recreation of myself being shot in the head. As to whether this is an 'Exact' portrayal of the incident or merely something they knew I'd understand is perhaps irrelevant, however the premise that an injury prior to incarnating as a human seems valid to me and I am in the process of researching a resolution. So what I am presenting is the possibility of an etheric injury could cause a damage to the core consciousness of a being such as in the case of Retro-grade amnesia on the biological level. Coming back to my present case, my contacts/guides/what-have-you have strongly implied that I should be able to recover my memory in this state..in fact they seem to be getting impatient with my lack of progress in that regard. (Pfft!) So this being the case, I wonder what thoughts others may have on this matter and if they have had success with similar practices.

Re: Astral Injury and the Nature of Memory
I have a poor short term memory as it is, so trying to recover past life memories (which I'm still on the fence over for myself personally) would be damn near impossible.

And are you referring to an equal-parts switch from one life to another? Like if you were shot in the head in a past life, you do not remember that past life now because of it being a head trauma. Or could it manifest as a different part of your human body? Like being shot in the head then and having arthritis in your wrists now.

And I suppose its possible. After all, many folks believe in past lives and seek to regain those memories. So if we can have memory-bleed over, why not physical problems as well?

Re: Astral Injury and the Nature of Memory
Elinox: Yes, moreso in the psycho-neurological sense however, although I've read in the past about how attitude tends to have an effect on health, both in recovery and strength of immunity and other things though, though I'm not sure how much is anecdotal and how much is clinical. (and agreement on the short-term memory thing, adhd+ocd+w/e tends not to lend well to this stuff sometimes! XD)

I wonder if any of my current problems are also due to this "mild head-'splody" as well, it's a big part of why my activity here is so sporadic.. it's kinda this whole "Awakening" bit for me has been like a computer trying to boot itself over and over until whatever got messed-up is fixed.. frankly there have been several "personalities" active at one point or another which gave the illusion of a multiple scenario i.e. my "consciousness" gradually overtaking the human thought-processes and hormones and all that. I can safely say that what's left now is all me.. but getting to that point was rather brutal. Another thing I've noticed is that earlier in life I/it seemed to have greater access to spiritual abilities(and concentration) and this decreased as I regained myself over time.. I would have expected the reverse to be true. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

Thanks for your post, Elinox.
