As evidenced by the user info of many people on this board, gender doesn't really indicate much of anything in regards to actual procreation. Your'e thinking of sex.
Biological sex, however, only matters in a physical reality. What was really necessary to procreate in the "spiritual" realm of Heaven were polarised energies, which, in our human understanding, translates into different genders.
I was just pointing out a difference in the words, not anything mechanical about it. First off, I'm not going to assume that there is not some physical reality to heaven and angels, nor am I going to assume there isn't. Perhaps there is a physical portion there...but angel are unisex, so all that really matters IS gender? I certainly don't know.
But generally speaking, in terms of procreation, sex is more important than gender.
