A memory/experience, not of Earth (and not of this lifetime)
I'll cross-post what I wrote in my journal first, then I'll elaborate a little more.

Quote:I'd mentioned this to Chris today (albeit in a PMS-ridden state, sniffling all over the place):

I found a memory. And, it is not of Earth.

The closest I can put it to is possibly a place I've rested in between lives - maybe this was in between Alice's* life and mine. I was lying on my back (if I even had a back, I don't know if I had a form) staring up. I could hear people - were they people? There were definitely voices, and I can't say the language was English or any other I recognise - murmuring and talking around me.

Above me was an extremely unearthly sky. The best image I could find to represent it was this, only there was just the sky ... no trees. The stars would occasionally twinkle or flicker, and the place was peaceful despite the business.

And ... it was a very beautiful place.

Ever since I was little - we're talking about three or four here - I've loved to duck underneath the curtains at night and stare outside, either at the neighbouring houses with the lights shining through their curtains, or up at the sky. When we as a family go out at night when we're on holiday, near the sea - I love to stare at the stars.

... I want to go back one day. I don't know where it is, or if that sky is all there is.

Does anyone have recollections of a similar sounding place?

*'Alice' is whom I believe was a past life of mine, in which I lived in the early-to-mid 20th century.

So ... I get this memory, or memory of an odd experience. I'm a little confused as to what it actually does mean, but I'm curious - has anyone experienced or seen a similar place? I contemplated putting this in the Celestial sub-forum, to ask if it was possibly a part of Heaven or another plane I rested in-between lives, because I really don't think I was in a human form ... or any form, for that matter. *scratches head*

When I do think of it ... I miss it, or at least feel a strong pulling to go and see it again sometime. Maybe because I was so relaxed there, but I wish to find out more about it. Does anyone remember anything similar or experienced anything like that?

EDIT: And because the link doesn't work - the picture is this (found at http://www.corbis.com)

Re: A memory/experience, not of Earth (and not of this lifetime)
One thing I like to do with analyzing any sort of memory like this is try to prove its unearthliness if I believe it not to be Earthly. While this is usually just me seeking the rational, mundane explanation, it can also help to dig up details regarding the imagery received thus allowing you to convey what you saw in a more detailed fashion.

Staring at the stars may be a recurring habit across lifetimes. However, the sky you mention doesn't seem terribly unearthly from the description you currently provide. Heck, it could just be you in the middle of a field. If there are lots of folks around, it could just be the middle of some fair/fairgrounds.

What's your thoughts?

I've just re-read the post and realised how little detail I've put in. I'll try and explain it better:

The sky I'd seen and the size of the stars were definitely not ones I remember seeing (on Earth) and the sky seemed a little too ... busy for Earth? I mean, views of the stars from Earth are usually small and scattered, but the stars I'd seen were a lot larger and closer together (and you could see them visibly flickering).

I can't remember a field or any buildings (just the sky above me, which seemed quite close) and I couldn't hear anything like humans walking around or other 'people' noises aside from speech. I could hear the quiet voices, and it seemed like I was lying down (although I'm not altogether sure I had a form - if I did, I was either heavily numbed or keeping very still).

Anyhow - thanks for your input, it's made me rethink it a lot more!

Re: A memory/experience, not of Earth (and not of this lifetime)
Sorry for the double-posting, but I got an update on this issue:

I experienced another memory of this place last night. I'm not sure when I got hold of it (because it feels like I've remembered it years ago, but it's only just resurfaced) but it's very similar. It didn't come up during a planned meditation, but I let my mind drift while thinking of the sky and keeping it in my mind, and it popped into my head very vividly and realistically (when I came 'round from it, I was surprised about my living-room surroundings).

I feel a little more rooted. Still not sure if I'm in a particular form as it doesn't feel like feet are touching anything, but I'm definitely near the ground. The same sky is above me, the stars are still very close together and they're still very bright. But around me, there are 4 white pointed towers, 2 on each side of me (like I'm on a path with these towers lined either side of it).

There are lights or energy, something beaming up against these towers, giving them a yellowish appearance. The towers seem to be for aesthetics - they're not apartment blocks, they don't have windows or doors - simply a pointed white structure possibly made of stone.

There's a slight wind I can hear, but other than that, silence. I'm alone - there's no people around me, and the only activity seem to be these twinkling stars that (again) I'm staring up at.

For a slight visual reference, I drew something small (but I can really do it no justice):

Hmm ... definitely something for me to give thought to.

I also 'remember' big bright stars like that, the towers don't really ring a bell though sorry.

It sounds like "home", to me. However, I have no idea what that means. I have a vague feeling as well as a strange visual imagining (that is similar to what you describe) accompanied by the feeling of "home", but don't know anything about it beyond that.
