A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
It's strange, I often feel so close to Jesus, and I follow him because of this...but it seems the more I follow Christ, the more I also feel I must follow Satan. It's like both of them are calling to me, and I am connected to both. It's odd, though, I feel so comfortable as Christian, happy, calm, so on. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I'm saved, however, as that just gets annoying if you ask me.

I also feel differently about each: Christ is my lord who protects and loves me, Satan is my lord who I must in some ways serve. Yet I have ignored Satan, because of my good feelings when I'm with Christ.

I now wonder, is this normal for a demon to feel a calling to both "good" and "evil"? Or is that just a generalization and a stereotype? Are these kind of connections normal as well? Especially toward Satan?

Re: A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
well, i'm a demon but i haven't met satan yet. or were you talking about it in a more metaphoric way? i know what it means to be tempted by one's "evil" side.
i'm buddhist, although i'm a demon, and i know that i can be terribly mean and brutal, but you don't have to be perfect in order to be buddhist. you just try to avoid hurting anyone.

i'd say you should do whatever feels right for you... sorry if that doesn't help much...

Re: A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
Well, I meant it literally...I've never been a strong believer in an exact Satan, but something about him calls to me. I just am afraid that if I go to him, since I am so sensitive to energies, that I might not do as well.

Re: A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
I think it is normal to feel a calling to both good and evil as i feel it too but never at the same time.
I'm quite chaotic in the fact that one instant i love all the planet and wouldn't want to harm a single living thing and the next minute i feel so ANGRY at the human race, for making such a mess of things and practically destroying the planet, cutting down loads of trees etc, that i really want to punish them.
So yeah good and evil affect me but generally i feel the calling of good more than evil.
I am part buddhist and several other beliefs of different religions but i dont feel a calling to christ or satan.
I used to be a bit satanistic but i was messed up back then i dont think it was a true calling, just my twisted mind.
I sometimes feel close to God when i feel particularly alone and praying helps to counter the loneliness however i've never really been particularly christian or felt close to that religion.
My advice is to stay away from Satan. He may eradicate your good feelings and perhaps influence you in ways you would dislike. Goodness is the way to go!

Yeah, I've noticed that I've felt close to good one minute, evil the next. I'm chaotic in that way too. Unfortunately the push toward Satan is very strong, but I'm doing my best to ignore it.

I think it'll be worth it if you resist.
Keep with the good. It may be strong but if you've already resisted it so far then it proves that you are STRONGER!
Keep that in mind.

The way I see it, good and evil are only concepts.

If it feels good, why not do it?

Then again, I'm self-centered, aka ignore me if you believe compassion is a "good thing." XD

Maybe it's more of a balancing yourself between two opposites? Have some characteristics of Christ, but also some characteristics of Satan (in the sense you use that name).

FWIW, I do the whole Wicca thing because I have a very strong internal urge to be balanced in the way of having some aspects of one extreme and some aspects of another extreme. The Rakshani female I dated was Wiccan for much the same reason: the excessive anal-ness for balance.

*pokes Freetha* What's your input? Could this whole balance thing be a characteristic of Raksha? *shrugs due to being unsure*

Re: A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
I would have to agree with simim on this one, "good" and "evil" are concepts developed by different cultures. What is considered "good" for one culture could be an insidious "evil" to another.

Perhaps these pulls you are feeling to the entities known as Jesus and Satan is just your minds way of using familiar symbols to interpret a different conflict you are having within yourself.

For instance, Satan is seen as representing all things sexual, primal, and bestial in man kind. In psychology, Satan can be seen as your "Id" that selfish thing that wants you to do things only for yourself.

Jesus on the other hand is seen as pure, moral, loving, the "Super ego" in psychological terms.

That being said, perhaps this conflict is just your way of trying to decide to follow the "Beast" or the "Saint" inside yourself.

......I had a few more valid points after that, but they unfortunately, died ;_; I'm not even sure if the rest of my post made sense anyway...if it did, I'm glad I was able to offer some help

Good luck

EDIT: oh yeah, if I screwed up on any points with the psychology (its been a while since I studied it ^^;; ) feel free to slap me with a fish or something

*evil grin* wouldn't you like to know

Re: A calling to Christ and a calling to Satan
I'd take a look at the concepts behind each enitiy and what they mean to you. Both had radically different meanings to different people, it may be less about what you want to believe than an inner conflict as afore mentioned. But I encourage you to keep up the fight for what you desire.
